NESCOT College
Two floors of NESCOT's North Wing rewired in 10 weeks for Trevor Blake, with zero defects at handover and further contracts awarded since.
Main intakes, sub-mains and distribution boards, with the changeover planned around shutdowns so the building keeps running.
The quality of the work was fantastic… work carried out in a busy shop and wellbeing centre.
We install and replace main intakes, metering, sub-main cabling and distribution boards, from the incoming supply through to tested, labelled boards on each floor. The changeover from old to new is planned with you, so the building is only off for as long as it has to be.
In a building that's in use, the changeover is the part we plan hardest. We agree the shutdown windows with you and the building's users, get the new boards and cabling ready in advance, then move circuits across in stages, so each area is off for as short a time as possible.
Where the incoming supply itself needs changing, the distribution network operator (UK Power Networks across Surrey and South London) moves or upgrades its cut-out and meter, and our work is programmed around theirs. Every board is tested and labelled with an up-to-date circuit chart, and you get an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) with the test results.
We keep to your programme. In buildings that are in use, the work is planned around the people using them, with shutdowns out of hours or area by area.
Everything is tested before handover. The electrical installation is certified to BS 7671 by a NICEIC Approved Contractor, and the certificates and test results come with the rest of the handover paperwork.
Usually, yes. The changeover is done in stages, with shutdown windows agreed in advance, so only the area being worked on loses power, and only while its circuits are moved across. Replacing the main switch needs a short whole-building shutdown, which we plan with you for a time that suits the building.
An Electrical Installation Certificate with schedules of inspections and test results for the new boards and sub-mains, an up-to-date circuit chart on every board, and the information for the building's operation and maintenance (O&M) manual.
