What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work; others track what you do, to show you adverts or count you in statistics. UK law says a site must ask before setting any that aren't strictly needed.
What this site saves
We don't set any cookies. If you switch the site to light or dark with the button in the header, your browser remembers that choice in its own storage, under the name “theme”. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. It's removed when you clear your browser's data.
Some iPhone and iPad browsers open the background videos full screen instead of playing them in the page. If yours does, the site notes it under the name “inline-video-blocked” and shows still pictures for the rest of your visit. That note is kept in your browser's session storage, stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is removed when you close the tab.
Counting visits
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, to see which pages people use. It sets no cookies and saves nothing on your device. It records the page you view, the site that sent you, your country and the type of device and browser you use, and doesn't keep your IP address. It tells one visit from another with a code made from your connection, which is discarded after 24 hours, so it can't recognise you from one day to the next or follow you to other sites. Vercel Speed Insights works the same way, without cookies, and measures only how quickly each page loads and responds.
Google Maps
Maps on this site stay blank until you press Show map. Only then does your browser load the map from Google, which may set its own cookies; Google's privacy policy explains how it uses them. Open in Google Maps takes you straight to Google instead.
Other sites
Links to WhatsApp, Checkatrade, Google reviews, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn take you to sites that set their own cookies, under their own policies.
If this changes
If we ever add anything that needs cookies, we'll ask before setting them and update this page. The privacy policy covers the information you send us.
